Philip E. Raines, MBAPresident, Prevailing Wisdom, LLCI've worked for the Minnesota and Illinois legislatures, including as staff on the House Capital Investment Committee. I've helped write tax, banking, and construction law. For over 25 years I've been on the other side of the table too, lobbying for cities, counties, nonprofits, associations, and businesses. Last session that meant $400,000 for the historic Pickwick Mill and dam in southeast Minnesota.
Along the way I knocked thousands of voter doors, built opposition research on U.S. Senate candidates, ran campaigns in multiple states, and researched and wrote legislation on firefighter pensions, higher education standards, and medical billing. I hold a B.S. in Political Science with a minor in History from Bradley University. In 2008 I earned my Master of Business Administration from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota. My philosophy is that government should enhance commerce, and that the people I work with can help government accomplish the greater good more efficiently. I can also tell you whether a Twix is a cookie or a candy, and why that matters. |
